Cozy Campfire Banana S’mores Boats - featured image

A quick and easy campfire treat featuring bananas filled with Nutella and mini marshmallows, wrapped in foil and cooked over a fire or in the oven for a gooey, comforting dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Medium to large ripe but firm bananas
  • 2 tablespoons Nutella per banana
  • A handful of mini marshmallows per banana
  • Graham crackers (optional, crushed for topping or serving on the side)
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil
  • Optional add-ons: chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), cinnamon, peanut butter or almond butter as Nutella substitute

Instructions

  1. Preheat your campfire or grill to medium heat, about 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice each banana lengthwise, creating a pocket without cutting all the way through.
  3. Spoon 2 tablespoons of Nutella into the banana pocket.
  4. Pile mini marshmallows generously on top of the Nutella-filled banana.
  5. Optionally sprinkle cinnamon or chopped nuts.
  6. Wrap each banana tightly in heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  7. Place foil packets on hot coals or grill grate and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning once halfway through.
  8. Remove packets with tongs, let cool for a minute, then carefully unwrap and serve with graham crackers.

Notes

Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid mushiness. Double-wrap foil if thin to prevent leaks. Cook over medium heat to avoid burning marshmallows. Can be baked in oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes. Let sit wrapped for 10 minutes before unwrapping for extra gooeyness. Substitute Nutella with peanut butter, almond butter, or fruit jam for variations.
