Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces salami, sliced
  • 6 ounces pepperoni slices
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar, cubed
  • 6 ounces brie, whole or sliced into wedges
  • 4 ounces goat cheese log
  • 4 ounces gouda, sliced
  • 1 box round buttery crackers (like Ritz)
  • 1 box whole wheat crackers
  • 1 baguette, sliced into thin rounds and lightly toasted (optional)
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes
  • 1 cup blackberries or dark cherries
  • 1 cup dried apricots or figs
  • 1/2 cup baby carrots
  • 1/2 cup celery sticks
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (roasted and salted almonds, cashews, or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate squares or Halloween-themed chocolate candies
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or fig jam
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1/2 cup candy pumpkins (optional)
  • Edible googly eyes
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs

Instructions

  1. Start with the Board Base (2 minutes): Place your board on a flat surface. If using a wooden board, wipe it with a damp cloth.
  2. Place the Ramekins (2 minutes): Position small bowls on the board: one near the top left for honey, one in the center for candy corn garnish, and one near the bottom right for nuts.
  3. Add the Cheeses (5 minutes): Place brie wedge at the 10 o’clock position. Cube sharp cheddar and arrange near center-left. Slice gouda into thin triangles and fan out near the bottom edge. Place goat cheese log on the right side.
  4. Arrange the Meats (5 minutes): Fold prosciutto into loose ribbons and place near top right. Roll salami slices into cylinders and stack near brie. Scatter pepperoni in a zigzag pattern across the middle.
  5. Fill in with Crackers and Bread (3 minutes): Arrange buttery crackers in a row along the left edge. Place whole wheat crackers in a row on the right. Line up baguette slices near the bottom center.
  6. Add the Fruits and Vegetables (4 minutes): Scatter grape clusters in two or three groups. Place blackberries near goat cheese. Arrange dried apricots between cheddar and gouda. Tuck baby carrots and celery sticks along edges.
  7. Incorporate the Sweet and Savory Add-Ins (3 minutes): Fill ramekin with honey near brie. Pour mixed nuts into another ramekin. Scatter dark chocolate squares near pepperoni. Sprinkle pumpkin seeds over empty spaces.
  8. Finish with the Halloween Garnish (2 minutes): Fill center ramekin with candy corn. Arrange candy pumpkins around edges. Stick edible googly eyes onto brie with honey. Place rosemary sprigs in a few spots.
  9. Final Touches (1 minute): Step back and fill any empty gaps with extra crackers or nuts. Drizzle honey over goat cheese or brie. Serve immediately or cover loosely and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

Notes

Take cheeses out of refrigerator 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Do not overcrowd the board; leave about an inch of space between ingredient groups. Use the ‘river’ method for organic arrangement. Prep all ingredients before starting assembly.
