Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup mini pepperonis
  • 1 cup large dill pickles, cut into thick rounds
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup English cucumber, cut into thick rounds
  • 1/2 cup black olives, whole
  • 1215 wooden skewers
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Make the ranch dip: In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon fresh dill, 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon dried chives, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Whisk until smooth. Slowly add 1/4 cup buttermilk while whisking continuously. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed. Cover and refrigerate while you prep everything else.
  2. Prep your ingredients: Cut 8 oz of cheddar cheese into 1-inch cubes. Cut the English cucumber into thick rounds, about 1/2 inch thick. Cut the dill pickles into similar sized rounds. Rinse and dry the cherry tomatoes. Drain the black olives. Measure out 1 cup of mini pepperonis.
  3. Assemble the skewers: Take a wooden skewer and start threading. I like to start with a cheese cube, then a mini pepperoni, then a pickle round, then a cherry tomato, then a cucumber round, and finish with a black olive. Leave a little space between each piece. You should get about 5-6 pieces per skewer.
  4. Repeat until all ingredients are used. This recipe makes about 12-15 skewers.
  5. Arrange on a serving platter: Place the bowl of ranch dip in the center. Fan the skewers out around it like spokes on a wheel. If you have extra ingredients, scatter them around the base of the dip bowl.
  6. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready. Let them sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving so the cheese softens slightly.

Notes

Make the ranch dip a day ahead for best flavor. Cut all ingredients roughly the same size for balanced bites. Don’t overload the skewers — leave space between pieces. Store leftovers separately: skewers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, ranch dip for up to 5 days. For a dairy-free version, use plant-based cheese and vegan mayo/sour cream alternatives.
