These easy mummy-wrapped Halloween hot dogs are a fun, kid-friendly treat that comes together in under 25 minutes. With simple ingredients like hot dogs and crescent roll dough, they’re perfect for Halloween parties, school events, or a spooky movie night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 standard-size hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 can (8-count) refrigerated crescent roll dough (original, not flaky layers)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for extra texture)
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper (for lining baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it along the perforated lines into 8 triangles. Place them flat on a clean cutting board. If the dough feels too cold and stiff, let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.
  3. Cut each triangle into thin strips using a pizza cutter or sharp knife. Aim for strips about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. You should get 4-5 strips per triangle.
  4. Pat the hot dogs dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips, starting at one end and working your way to the other. Leave a small gap (about 1/4 inch) between each strip so the hot dog peeks through. Wrap snugly but not too tight.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. Space them about 2 inches apart.
  7. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to make an egg wash. Brush each mummy with the egg wash using a pastry brush.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden and the hot dogs are heated through. Check after 10 minutes to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Add the eyes using a toothpick dipped in mustard. Dab a small dot on each mummy’s ‘head’ (the end where you finished wrapping).
  11. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, wrap dough snugly but not too tight, and leave small gaps between strips for the mummy look. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent bleeding. Double the batch for crowds. To reheat, use a 350°F oven for 3-5 minutes. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
