These Easy Mummy Hot Dogs with Crescent Dough Wrap are a quick, fun, and forgiving Halloween dinner that comes together in under 25 minutes. Perfect for parties, family dinners, or spooky movie nights, they’re a crowd-pleaser that embraces imperfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs
  • Mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
  • Optional: Cooking spray or butter (for baking sheet)
  • Optional for serving: Ketchup, mustard, ranch dressing, pretzel sticks or toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent dough. Unroll and separate along perforations into 8 triangles. Press perforations together for wider strips or leave as-is.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  4. Wrap each hot dog with a strip of dough, stretching slightly and leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Overlap strips slightly for a mummy effect.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and hot dogs are heated through. If dough puffs up, gently press down with a spatula halfway through.
  7. Let cool for 2-3 minutes, then use a toothpick to dab small dots of mustard or ketchup onto the exposed hot dog for eyes.
  8. Serve immediately with dipping sauces.

Notes

Keep dough cold for easier handling. Don’t wrap too tightly to allow for natural shrinkage. For a golden color, brush dough with milk or beaten egg before baking. Can be assembled up to 1 hour ahead and refrigerated, or frozen unbaked for up to 3 months.
