These no-bake Oreo spider truffles are a fun and easy Halloween treat made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and chocolate coating, decorated with pretzel legs and candy eyes. They’re perfect for parties and require only 20 minutes of active prep time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 standard package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 12 ounces melting chocolate or candy melts (dark or semi-sweet)
  • 48 mini pretzel twists
  • 24 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Crush the entire package of Oreos (filling and all) in a food processor until fine crumbs form. Set aside 2 tablespoons for decorating if desired.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix with a spatula or your hands until no white streaks remain and the mixture holds together when pressed.
  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a smooth ball about 1 inch in diameter. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat to make about 24 truffles. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. About 10 minutes before the truffles are done chilling, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and glossy.
  5. Remove truffles from the fridge. Working one at a time, dip a truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork, coating completely. Tap off excess and place back on the parchment.
  6. While the chocolate is still wet, insert 8 pretzel twists into each truffle (4 on each side) at a slight angle to look like spider legs.
  7. Immediately press two candy eyes onto the top of each truffle near the front. Let set at room temperature for 20-30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  8. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

Use regular Oreos, not double-stuf, for best texture. Cream cheese must be softened to room temperature. Chill truffles thoroughly before dipping to prevent them from falling apart. Work in small batches when adding legs and eyes so the chocolate stays wet. For gluten-free version, use gluten-free sandwich cookies and certified gluten-free pretzels. For vegan version, use vegan cream cheese and dairy-free chocolate chips.
