An easy and elegant charcuterie board designed for two, combining savory cured meats, creamy cheeses, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, and crunchy elements for a perfect cozy evening.

Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced prosciutto, salami, or soppressata
  • Soft cheeses: goat cheese (small log or crumbled), Brie or Camembert (room temperature)
  • Firm cheeses: aged Manchego or sharp cheddar (bite-sized pieces)
  • Fresh fruit: seedless grapes, figs (seasonal), or sliced apples
  • Dried fruit: dried apricots or cranberries
  • Nuts: roasted almonds or Marcona almonds
  • Crunchy elements: mixed olives, cornichons (tiny pickles), toasted baguette slices or artisan crackers
  • Sweet touches: local honey or fig jam
  • Fresh herbs: rosemary or thyme sprigs
  • Crusty baguette (thinly sliced and toasted) or gluten-free crackers (rice or nut-based)

Instructions

  1. Wipe your board clean and arrange small bowls for olives, nuts, and spreads evenly spaced to anchor the layout.
  2. Cut the baguette into thin slices about 1/4 inch thick. Toast lightly in a pan or oven at 350°F (175°C) for 3-4 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool.
  3. Fold or roll slices of prosciutto and salami to add height and texture. Place on one side of the board in small piles or gentle folds.
  4. Add soft cheeses like goat cheese in a small mound or log. Cut firm cheeses into bite-sized chunks or thin slices and space apart.
  5. Scatter grapes in small clusters and lay sliced apples or figs alongside cheeses for easy pairing.
  6. Fill ramekins with olives, cornichons, nuts, and any spreads like honey or jam.
  7. Drizzle a bit of honey over goat cheese or place small fresh herb sprigs around the board for color and aroma.

Notes

Let cheeses come to room temperature 15-20 minutes before assembling for best flavor and texture. Toast baguette slices lightly to avoid brittleness. Use small bowls to keep wet items from making crackers soggy. Assemble close to serving time to keep fruits fresh and cheese from getting too soft. Balance creamy, crunchy, salty, and sweet elements for best experience.
