A thick, creamy, and protein-packed smoothie bowl made with frozen banana, peanut butter, and protein powder. Ready in just 5 minutes, it’s the perfect quick breakfast for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe banana, frozen
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder
  • 1/3 cup milk of choice (e.g., unsweetened almond milk)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseed meal (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the toppings: sliced banana, drizzle of peanut butter, granola, dark chocolate chips, shredded coconut, hemp seeds or crushed peanuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your banana: If not already frozen, peel a ripe banana, slice into coins, and freeze for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
  2. Layer ingredients in the blender: Start with the milk (1/3 cup), then add peanut butter (2 tablespoons), protein powder (1 scoop), chia seeds if using, and a pinch of salt. Finally, add the frozen banana slices.
  3. Blend on low for 10 seconds to break up the banana, then increase to high. Blend for 30-45 seconds total, until thick and creamy (like soft-serve ice cream). Use a tamper if needed.
  4. Stop the blender and scrape down the sides with a spatula. If too thick, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time; if too thin, add a few ice cubes or another frozen banana slice.
  5. Pour into a bowl using the spatula to get every last bit.
  6. Add your desired toppings (e.g., sliced banana, drizzle of peanut butter, granola, chocolate chips).
  7. Eat immediately for best texture.

Notes

Use frozen banana for thick texture. Don’t over-blend (30-45 seconds max). Layer liquids first, then powders, then frozen fruit. Adjust milk amount based on protein powder absorption. For meal prep, freeze banana slices with protein powder in individual bags.
