A quick and easy frozen watermelon margarita with a spicy Tajín rim, perfect for summer parties and late-night cravings. This refreshing cocktail balances sweet watermelon with tart lime and a spicy kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (450g) frozen watermelon chunks
  • 1 cup (240ml) tequila blanco
  • ½ cup (120ml) fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup (60ml) triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup (optional)
  • Tajín seasoning for rimming glasses
  • 1 cup (240ml) ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Pour Tajín seasoning onto a small plate. Rub the rims of margarita glasses with a lime wedge, then dip them into the Tajín to coat evenly. Chill glasses in the fridge for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a high-speed blender, combine frozen watermelon chunks, tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup if using. Add ice cubes.
  3. Blend on low speed to break up ice and watermelon, then increase to high speed for about 45 seconds until smooth and slushy with no large ice chunks. Pause and stir if needed.
  4. Check consistency and taste; add more agave syrup or lime juice if desired and blend briefly again.
  5. Pour the margarita into the Tajín-rimmed glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge or watermelon slice if desired.
  6. Serve immediately while icy and fresh. Store leftover mixture in the freezer up to 2 hours and re-blend before serving.

Notes

Use properly frozen watermelon chunks for best texture. Fresh lime juice is preferred for brightness. Avoid over-blending to maintain icy texture. Rim glasses just before serving to keep Tajín fresh. Optional: add cayenne for extra heat or jalapeño slices for a spicy twist.
