A spooky Halloween charcuterie board featuring homemade witch finger pretzels, cheese, cured meats, and festive snacks. Perfect for parties and movie marathons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (about 40) pretzel rods
  • 1/2 cup creamy almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • Red gel food coloring
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cut into cubes or small wedges
  • 6 ounces prosciutto or salami
  • 1 cup mixed olives (green and black)
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • 1 cup roasted, salted almonds or Marcona almonds
  • 1 small box of rosemary or water crackers
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • Optional: a few slices of fresh apple or pear

Instructions

  1. Make the Witch Finger Pretzels (10 minutes): Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread a thin, even layer of almond butter (about 1/2 teaspoon) onto the top quarter-inch of each pretzel rod. Press one slivered almond firmly into the almond butter, angled slightly upward like a fingernail. Place on parchment. Repeat with all pretzels.
  2. Add the ‘Blood’ (5 minutes): Squeeze a tiny dab of red gel food coloring at the base of the almond where it meets the pretzel. Use a toothpick to gently smear if needed. Let set for 5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Charcuterie Elements (10 minutes): Cut cheddar cheese into 1-inch cubes or small wedges. For prosciutto roses, fold one slice in half lengthwise and roll loosely from one end to form a rose shape. Place seam-side down. Repeat with a few slices.
  4. Arrange the Board (10 minutes): Place small bowls of olives, dried cranberries, and almonds in different corners of the board. Arrange cheese cubes in small clusters, scatter grapes, and lay prosciutto roses in the center or off to one side. Fan out crackers in a few spots. Place witch finger pretzels in a loose pile or arranged like a fan.
  5. Garnish and Serve (5 minutes): Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs around the board. Add whole almonds or extra grapes for color. Serve immediately.

Notes

The witch finger pretzels are best enjoyed within a few hours of assembly. Store decorated pretzels in a single layer in an airtight container at room temperature if making ahead. Do not refrigerate.
