A dramatic and delicious Halloween punch with a deep purple color, dry ice fog, and creepy garnishes. Made with real fruit juices, it’s sweet but balanced, and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 4 cups (960 ml) unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 4 cups (960 ml) lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7Up)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) orange juice
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) grenadine
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • Ice ring or ice cubes
  • Optional garnishes: gummy worms, plastic spider rings, dry ice, frozen witch fingers, lychee eyeballs

Instructions

  1. Make the ice ring (optional but recommended): The day before your party, fill a bundt pan or ring mold halfway with water. Add a few thin slices of lime, orange, or lemon, plus a few fresh cranberries or mint leaves. Freeze for 2 hours, then add more water to fill the mold and freeze overnight.
  2. Mix the base: In your punch bowl or a large pitcher, combine 4 cups pineapple juice, 4 cups cranberry juice, 1 cup orange juice, 1/4 cup grenadine, and 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice. Stir well. This base can be made up to 24 hours ahead and stored in the fridge.
  3. Chill everything: Make sure all your juices are cold before assembling. Cold ingredients mean less ice melting, which means stronger flavor. I usually pop the punch bowl in the fridge for an hour before serving too.
  4. Add the ice ring: Just before serving, carefully unmold your ice ring by running the outside of the mold under warm water for a few seconds. Gently slide it into the punch bowl.
  5. Add the fizz: Pour in 4 cups of cold lemon-lime soda. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Add the dry ice (for fog effect – optional): Using tongs, place a small piece of dry ice (about the size of a golf ball) in a small, heatproof bowl or cup. Gently lower the bowl into the punch bowl so it’s submerged but the dry ice isn’t floating loose. Add more pieces every 20-30 minutes to maintain the effect.
  7. Garnish and serve: Add your creepy garnishes—gummy worms draped over the edge of the bowl, plastic spider rings floating on top, lychee eyeballs bobbing in the punch. Ladle into cups.

Notes

Handle dry ice with tongs only; never touch with bare skin. Do not ingest dry ice. For a less sweet version, swap lemon-lime soda for sparkling water and reduce grenadine to 1 tablespoon. The juice base can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
